About ElJohns Music Fest

"“ELJOHNS MUSIC FEST” which is hosted at the music school is an annual music festival providing a platform for school choirs, music students, teachers and parents from Europe, USA, Africa and Asia to integrate, learn from each other, exploring new music ideas that could shape their careers, attend music masterclasses, lessons, workshops, capacity building, learn new music cultures and participating in joint concerts and of course experiencing the African safari. The Festival can be participated by music students, school choirs, musicians, teachers and lecturers and parents accompanying their kids.We identify music teachers from our school and those from international schools who get to teach different music skills with an intention to empower the participating students and school choirs. Importantly, students get to be taken through the African music education,evolution of it’s genres, African rhythms among others.

  • Final Gala concert; In this concert, we shall present all the mass choir songs learnt during the Festival period, we shall have solo presentations, duets, trios, quartets, musicians playing etc. Individual choirs will also make their own presentations.
  • All Festival participants will be awarded and also given a Certificate of participation.

  • Rift valley safari day; Safari at Lake Nakuru National Park, a chance to see the famous big 5 and a vast array of other wild animals. Rift valley is also known as the home of Flamingos so get a chance to watch flamingos in hundreds.

17.6 Departure Drive to Nairobi for return flights

9.6 International Arrivals; Arrivals, Airport transfers and checking in to the hotel in Nairobi.
10.6 Welcome reception and orientation.
A visit to the Giraffe Center in Nairobi; A thrilling experience that gives you an up-close interaction with giraffes, feed them and take photos for memorable experiences.
Free time and Shopping; Free time for shopping and checking out African souvenirs and clothings.
11.6 Early morning Safari at the Nairobi National Park; A unique adventure right in the heart of the City. An early morning safari experience in the only National reserve located in the City. Get a chance to see different wild animals ranging from the Elephants, Lions, Buffalos among others.
Leaving for Maasai Mara National reserve; The safari to Kenya’s Famous game reserve (Masai Mara) will start in the afternoon. We will stop at some points for photos and to enjoy some amazing views of beautiful landscapes. Arrive in Narok (a small town that is located near Maasai Mara National Park) and check in at the hotel where we’ll spend the night.
12.6 The Grand Safari day; Enjoy a whole day safari at Masai Mara National Reserve. As your Masai Mara safari will be private, your game drive timings will be flexible, useful even if you are travelling with children. Return in the evening for dinner, African music entertainment and overnight stay at the hotel.
13.6 A visit to the Maasai Village; At the break of dawn, you embark on a visit to Maasai village, experiencing the rich Maasai Culture, their traditional way of life, music, food and interacting with Maasai people.
Driving to Nakuru; An onward departure this time round to Nakuru by road; the city where the choir will be having their music activities. Arrive in Nakuru later in the evening and drop off at the hotel where you’ll spend the night.
14.6 Attending Church in the morning
Attending the Gala Concert by the School Choirs; Attending the Gala concert with performances by Local and International Choirs both individually and as a mass choir.
African Gala Dinner; After the Gala Concert, we’ll attend a special African dinner together with all the singers. Get a chance to experience the true African cuisine, traditional music and the culture. Everyone is encouraged to be dressed in African attires.
15.6 Rift Valley adventure day; Head out in the morning for a spectacular Safari/Game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. Start off at the gates of the world’s famous Lake Nakuru National Safari Park in search of a vast array of Wild animals.
Team Building; An afternoon of teambuilding activities, games, African dances between the local and international students’ choirs cheered and supported by their parents.
16.6 Visit to Menengai Crater; A tour to Menengai Crater, located in Nakuru City, a massive shield volcano; and one of the biggest calderas in the world, and second largest in Africa.
Shopping and driving back to Nairobi.
